My pride in my country was restored today and I met some amazing people. An estimated 90,000 men, women and children marched in London from Hyde Park to Parliament Square in solidarity with refugees. Then Jeremy Corbyn made his inaugural speech as leader of the opposition. Just ordinary people ‘saying it loud and clear that refugees ARE welcome here.’
Photos to follow….
Thanks awfully to you all for marching today and for offering your homes and ‘wallets’ to these refugees most in need….and for bearing the cost of their living and education needs, without asking any contributions from all those taxpayers who are already struggling to keep their own families! … MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO YOU ALL for your humanity and generosity
Bloody hell. You all came. And you were AMAZING!!! Thank you all so so much.
What a phenomenal day. No words.
WOW you guys. Massive well done. That was inspiring, energising and the speeches throughout have made us feel even more like what we are doing must go on. Sunshine, children and a total feeling of #compassion and #pride. What ever David Cameron was up to today I hope he was watching because if this didn’t make him feel like dipping into that empathy box he stores up for a rainy day well…I mean. Come on. Honoured to part of this #grassroots movement which WILL bring change and ensure refugees have a voice and get a chance at a good life. #solidarity from Calais Action xx
